The Vietnamese education program has recently undergone a major change, whereby the Technology Education program will teach grade 1 children a completely new way of spelling. This will make parents a little confused and do not know how to teach their children. However, it is known that this is the Vietnamese spelling according to the Education Reform, currently this spelling is being applied and implemented in 49 provinces and cities across the country. In order to prepare a solid luggage for the children who are about to enter grade 1, in addition to psychological preparation, parents need to train their children with reading skills, basic spelling, basic drawing so that they I confidently enter grade 1. The following article of Trung Tâm Đào Tạo Việt Á will send you the phonics table according to the vocational education and training program and VNEN, which is an extremely useful document for parents to teach their children to spell Vietnamese at home. , suitable for both children preparing to enter grade 1 and students of grade 1. This is the foundation and an important first step for children to get acquainted with Vietnamese.
1. How to spell according to the EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY BOOK
In Educational Technology, it is necessary to clearly distinguish between Sounds and Letters:
– Sound is the real thing, is the sound. – Letters are substitutes, used to record and fix sounds. Accordingly, there is not always a 1:1 correspondence between sounds and letters. – Usually, 1 sound is recorded with 1 letter (a, b, d, dd, e, 1, m, …)
Note: From the point of view of Educational Technology, 1 recorded sound equals 1 | word means that the recorded letters have the same role. Therefore, a sound /wait is recorded with a letter ch (letter : wait) rather than a combination of 2 letters c and h.
– There are cases where a sound is not recorded with only 1 word but can be 2, 3, 4 letters, so it is necessary to have the basis of the Spelling Law.
Example: The sound / doubt is recorded with 2 letters :ng and ng (double doubt)
The sound /ches/ is recorded with 3 letters: c (flag), k (ca) and q (cu) The sound /ia is recorded with 4 letters: iê, ia, yê, ya
Spelling Principles in Educational Technology
– Spelling according to Sound, not spelling according to Letter
Example: ca : /flag/ – /a/ – ca/
ke : /flag – /e/ – /ke/
hometown : /flag/ – /uê/ – /country/
Due to the sound spelling, when writing must be written according to the Spelling Law: The sound /flag/ precedes the sound /e, pear, i/ must be written with the letter k (ca). The sound / flag before the accompaniment must be written with the letter q (cu), the accompaniment is written with the letter u
– Spelling according to the 2-step mechanism:
+ Step 1: Spell the crossbar (When spelling the crossbar, separate the beginning / rhyme part)
For example: ba : /bank/ – /a/ – /ba/
+ Step 2: Spelling sounds with bars (When spelling sounds with different bars, the horizontal bar temporarily separates the bar, leaving the horizontal bar)
For example: Mrs: /bal – Huyen – Mrs. Students only learn tonal language when they can read the horizontal sound smoothly.
Note: Educational Technology also guides students, when they can’t read voiced voices, there are steps to re-spelling:
Method 1.
– Use your hand to hide the bar so that students can read the sound of the horizontal bar /ba/. Then return the bar sign to spell /ba/ – Huyen – Mrs.
– If you hide the bar but students can’t read the horizontal bar right away, then cover the rhyme, so that students can recognize the consonant /b/. Remove the vowel mask /a/ to recognize the vowel /a/ and spell bank – a – ba → ba – huyen – ba.
Way 2.
Putting the presented voice into the speech analysis model:
Students analyze and read the sound of the horizontal bar, then add the bar to get the voice: /ba/ – Huyen – Mrs.
If you are still confused with the sound of the horizontal bar, then analyze the sound of the horizontal bar: bank – a – ba. Let the children do and erase from the bottom up to finally have the voice / grandma.
Some specific examples
In Vietnamese, the language consists of 3 parts: the first part – the rhyme part – the sound part.
The rhyme part consists of Sounds that play the following roles: Accompaniment – Main sound – End sound. Students learning through Educational Technology will learn 4 types of rhymes:
– Rhymes with only main syllables, for example: ba, tea,…
– Rhymes with accompaniment and main sounds, for example: flowers, cinnamon,…
– Rhymes with main and last syllables, for example: lan, light,…
– Rhymes with enough accompaniment – main – last syllable, for example: forget, Hoang,…
From these rhymes, it is possible to create many different types of Language.
